I already read the Code Search FAQ.

I have spent days looking for an already made KM file or even a Pronto file to convert. I do not have the remote for the unit or I would make my own.

Thanks for the help.

If you had told us in your first post that you don't have the original remote, and which JP1 remote you have (as instructed in the Code Search FAQ) we might have anwsered differently.

Have you tried any of the Zenith VCR or Zenith DVD codes listed in the user's guide?

Here's what OFA lists as codes available for the URC-8811 (I just used that one cause you didn't tell us what your remote is):

The Zenith VCR setup codes are: 0039, 0000, 0209, 0479, 0033, and
0637
The Zenith DVD setup codes are: 0503 and 0591

Make sure you check out any Goldstar or LG codes too , since that's all Zenith is anymore. Funai and Samsung also make lots of combo units. In fact , up till now almost all combo products were outsourced to a few Asian vendors (even Sony).

I called the 'help' line for my Radio Shack remote (15-2104) and they gave me the code 0869, but my remote doesn't have it. All other Zenith/LG codes I have tried and they don't work either. From what I can tell it is the slim line DVC-8700 LG player

You will need to use Zenith code 0591 and then modify and learn the rest. Below is my custom 0591 code for this. I still had to learn Disc Menu, Return, Angle Zoom, and DVD keys from original to make it work right. Those buttons for some reason use protocol NECx1 while the rest use NEC1. Weird.
