decrete codes

decrete codes

When programing my remote with upgrade,I see discete codes on and one off as button selections.What do they do?
The discrete codes I put in work fine.

They turn whatever on and off. Only instead of one power button which toggles power, there is asepearte button for on and a separate one for off.
