jp1 and os's

I just built a jp1 cable and it works perfect with my laptop running windows 95 at 500mhz.
I use the same remote and interface with my desktop using win xp at 2ghz and I receive the no communication with remote error.
Ive tried all different settings,but all give the same error.
Any suggestions to get it to work with my desktop?

Assuming you're using a parallel interface have you made sure the port setting is correct on your desktop? (Select parallel... in the interface menu and select the correct value for your hardware)

Try with and without batteries in the remote as well.
