Those EFC numbers are in devices4 and were just posted in this thread

They also match the Xbox and the GE1105P upgrades in the DVD folder

key move fixed it

Here's the output from IR for the key move. I have the DVR on AUX.

AUX REC = AUX VCR/DVD 0522 $17 122

That's the proper EFC for Record (122, aka 378) under DVD/0522 so if it doesn't work it may be because the DVR uses another code. Have you tried learning the Record function from the OEM remote?

I'm too lazy to look this up, so I'll just guess.

Is this one of the situations in which the record key defined within the setup code needs to be pressed twice (an intentional safety feature in the design)?

A keymove would eliminate the requirement to press it twice.

The press twice rule, if you didn't understand it, would make it seem like record programmed via setup code wasn't working.

In this case the Record function is not defined in the standard DVD/0522, which is why we're having this discussion in the first place!  If you look carefully, it's not in the list Mike England posted either.
