It’s not called audio… sorry! That’s in the comments column in my KM file. BTW my own upgrade is also on yahoo, has ‘egd’ in filename. Input is on a wrong button but you can change it. I’ve annotated a bunch of functions to keep my confusion down. There is also SA-HE200 file which is a very good source because it’s a superset of the whole HE line. Look for jetstar52’s file. I wish I had it when I started.

I don’t know the setup of your receiver. We told the receiver to default to digital audio which it does nicely

when it listens to DVD. That input/audio toggle is useful when you need to override your setup. In any case, here is the official info:
Function name=input mode, Sub=0, OBC=168, EFC=093.

In spite of all-codes review already done on SA-HE200, I wonder if jetstar52 or anyone else found discrete commands for specific volume levels, for instance -30db, -40db. I could use something like that in HE-100.

Thanks! That would ultimately equal mute if I recall correctly, which is interesting. You never know. No middle ones, eh?
The reason I'd like to know is that I haven't found a way of keeping a fairly steady volume level due to the difference between various sound modes. About the only solution, crummy at that, was a macro with (10) vol- when you go from DVD to broadcast TV, which I abandoned anyway when keymoves got filled up in standard setup. Perhaps you can think of a way?

I didn't come across any EFCs that would step the volume. Does your TV have both fixed and variable output? You could use the TV's own volume control to match the level of the DVD player.

Tv has both. Currently is set to FIXED and sound goes through the receiver, always. I did try, long ago ,to match the two, because I thought it might be the way, and failed. I'll try again if you think that might work. Did you actually do it? Panasonic instructions are worse than Ikea, but at least there if parts don't match 'cause you don't know geometry, you know you've got it wrong. TV and Receiver are rough.

Yes, I have set up my in-laws' gear that way. The TV audio comes out through variable output jacks into the receiver, and adjusting the TV volume matches it to other sources. The important thing is to then HIDE the factory TV remote so nobody (e.g., my mother-in-law) uses it to mess up the levels. Using keymoves or punch-through moves the URC remote's volume keys to operate the receiver volume only.

That's been done looong ago, except I sometimes have to pull it out when I mess up my remote.

I see it as a system problem. I may need a lesson in hookup. I am not sitting in front of DVD now, but here is a list of available jacks:

I just indicated DVD-related connections as I recall them at this time.
I think I can’t use variable output, because TV does not get the DVD audio signals in the first place

because no input jack. Would you have any ideas how to hook up better? If not, then I will have to do it somehow with jp1, and –80dbs

just won’t do the job, though for broadcast tv that’s the most useful EFC.

Looks like the hookup is fine. The next step is to go into the TV's menu and set the output from "fixed" to "variable," then use the TV remote to lower the volume to match the volume of the DVD player.

Of course, if the DVD is louder than the TV at maximum, this won't work.

i know this entry is very old but you are my only hope to get the code for the tone control

i tried to use makehex to create the ir-code for the tone control button but i don´t really know how to use the HEX-Codes you posted.

Do you think it would be possible for you (or anyone else) to create the decimal IR-Code for me so that I´m able to upload it via "pronto hex code" to my harmony remote control?

Maybe there´s someone with this Remote Control (EUR7502XC0) in this forum who can upload the correct code? Or does someone know another way to get this code?
