Few questions regarding URC 8800

So I'm moving along thanks to you guys, but the learning curve is killing me.

Of course, we're all glad you were finally able to make progress, but just for future reference you should know that the 8800 remote has an unusual amount of 'ifs', 'ands' & 'buts' that most of the newer remotes don't have which make it harder than normal to get it set up the way you want. If your next attempt were to be on, say, a URC-8810w from WalMart, you'd find it much easier. 8)

you MUST also copy the Protocol Code and paste it into IR's Protocols tab.

Nevermind what I said above. Apparently, there's a minor bug in KM that shows the protocol code whether it's needed or not whenever the P8/740 upgrade length error is displayed. I'll be fixing that for the next release.

I suspected the 8800 was going to be troublesome even before ordering the JP1 cable, going over the old Yahoo JP1 forum some one said "the 8800 was not very popular around here" or something similar, and searching for '8800' didn't get to many hits either; it looks like I'm not lucky with remotes, about a year ago I got the JBL TC1000, very easy to program but could never get use to the 'touch' screen, plus it has to many problems with battery life, constant dirty screen and false commands, and worse of all no support what so ever, almost ordered the mx500 until I decided to check out Rob's JP1 info and revive my almost new, old trusted 8800.
