I have no learning remote.
1. A millenium 4 (4 device) with a cable code that I want to put onto my URC-6011.
2. The URC-6011 has an audio device code that I want to put onto the Mill 4.
Had tried to do 2. first as my first effort.
I have tried by downloading the URC-6011 onto IR. Copy and manually write the EFC values of the audio device into KM to create an upgrade for Mill 4. Then load the upgrade onto Mill 4. No joy.
Is it a workable way or I must use a learning remote to obtain the audio device codes first.
What is the workable way to do it?

IIUC, each of your remotes has a built-in setup code that you'd like to use in the other, which doesn't have it built-in.

You can't read the built-in setup codes, so you have no direct way to do that.

Some setup codes are in the devices4 spreadsheet. If the ones you want aren't there, post the the device types and 4 digit numbers in this thread. In most cases, one of the experts will know what's in a given setup code and can direct you to an upgrade.

Thanks johnsfine. Unablet to fine the codes in devices4.xls.

I have a rare Hitachi AV receiver HTA-DD3W. Only info found on the Web are Russian sites! The Cable is the TransACT set top box which is a Motorola Streamaster 5000. Unable to find any info other than marketing news on the Streamaster.

The devices and codes are
Cable 0866 currently residing in Millenium 4 (4 devices)
Audio/Receiver 0386 currently residing in URC 6011. This code was uploaded at the manufacturer as an upgrade but will only power on and off the AV receiver.

Any help is most appreciated.

We can get you info on the CBL/0866 code, but we'd need to see the IR download from the URC-6011 to see what the RCVR/0386 code looks like.

Could you post the file in the Diagnosis Area please and then post a link to it here. (and please read the sticky thread that explains HOW to post links to Yahoo files)

Robman, you are a bearer of good news. Just the CBL/0866 will at least get me half way.

I have posted the txt file generated when I download the URC6011 here: URC6011.TXT in the Diagnostic Area.

This is the first time I have uploaded a file and posted a link. Please let me know if the link doesn't work.

Links are case sensitive. You had the urc in lower case. This link should work.

Your second try was worse than the first. If you want to try fixing a link right after posting it, it's best to edit the post rather than post another.

Audio/0386 in that eeprom image is NEC1 protocol, device 91.

To rebuild it in KM or RM, select an appropriate Remote, Device type, and setup code on the setup sheet and also select NEC1 and enter Main Device = 91. Leave Sub Device blank.

Then copy all the EFCs that IR list for keys onto appropriately named functions in the functions sheet.

Thanks johnsfine.

It worked Laughing . Just loaded and tested the audio/0386 code onto the Millenium 4. Next is to experiment with adding more function. At least the remote is talking to the AV receiver.

Next is to sort out the CBl/0866.

A new world is opening.

This device code currently resides on the Mellelnium 4. Trying to get it onto the URC6011. Any help to identify its protocol will be most appreciated.
