Hi, I’m new the hobby. I listed my setup below.

8811 Remote
Extender 3 installed
Panasonic TV code 0250

Now my problem, I could not find the advanced code for the “Aspect” button in the printed document of codes for the TV_0250. So I did a learn function and found this info:{OBC=222}{Hex= $84} {EFC=238}. The function worked fine on the remote. I then installed the Extender and lost the functionality of the learn feature as the doc states. So I added the info above to the keymoves and it does not work? Any ideas??

Thanks
Mike

With that device it's important to check the subdevice value in the decode of the learned signals. A few of the commands have a different subdevice than most of the commands.

Those few cannot be generated using TV/0250.

One way to generate them is to make and install a device upgrade with the right protocol, device and subdevice, but with no functions assigned to buttons, then use that setup code as a source for KeyMoves.

TV/0250 is Panasonic:128.0, so you'll need an empty (no buttons defined) upgrade for Panasonic:128.4. To create it (using KM or RM), follow these steps:

  • Remote = 881x
  • Device Type = TV
  • Setup Code = 1250
  • Protocol Name = Panasonic
  • Main Device = 128
  • Sub Device = 4
  • Copy the resulting Device Upgrade Code and paste it into IR as a new Device.
  • Create a key move in IR (Key Moves tab):
    • Bound Device = TV
    • Bound Key = an unused button of your choosing
    • Device Type = TV
    • Setup Code = 1250
    • EFC = 238
  • Upload to the remote.
  • Test the key move

The easiest way is to do a "no button" upgrade:

Upgrade Code 0 = 04 E2 (TV/1250)
C9 00 01 DE BF FB FE DF
End

Add that device in IR. Don't assign it to any device button. Then Key Move TV/1250 EFC 238 to the button of your choice on your TV device.

BTW, 128.4 also has discrete component inputs 1 and 2 for some Panasonic models of HDTV's. Here is the list that I know of:
OBC EFC
124 004 Discrete Component 1 Input Select
125 008 Discrete Component 2 Input Select
201 049 Discrete Aspect - Zoom
209 113 Discrete Aspect - Full
222 238 Aspect
