You guys are doing great!

Well so far. so good. I used RECS80 (45) EFC 109 & EFC 172 (Mute on the keypad & the tuner source button) and it works from my 2104.

Yippee!!! Now I need to get the Z880 to work!

Thank you. I will continue to hunt. If you have more input, please let me know!

I just ran it against DecodeCCF at home and it does indeed produce the RECS80 decodes, as does CCF2EFC.

I recently deleted all my personal files at work, so I had to re-download both DecodeCCF and CCF2EFC to decode this CCF, so I'm guessing that DecodeIR.dll isn't in the zips, so I must have been running the programs without it.

I've gotten all of the codes for the keypads as far as I know, i.e. volume, mute, source selection. The other buttons (numbers) are programmed as macros under each source on the keypad (sounds familiar), but my dealer must use his fancy tools to do that. Then I can use the remote to test that button and its assigned macro. For now the pads just pass the ir to the emitter on the amp side where my components can receive it. But in the mean time this gets me some control of the audio and source. I also managed to find a code that turns on all the keypads at once. I only realized that when my wife told me to stop messing around because the whole house had turned on (all 6 zones) and she was trying to sleep.

Now I need ask the following based on the device in the RECS80 (45) set. Can I use keymaster to combine the two sets (devices 0 and 3) under one setup code? If not, can it be done another way that does not use a lot of memory?

Any ideas on the Z880 and its 7000 format string? I cannot seem to make out the "7000.A.8 10.D 10/16/1A\3332233220". It looks like the buttons are there, but no coding. Should I continue to try the RECS80 (45) under device 0 until the switcher responds?

The 3's represent zeroes and the 2's represent ones, forming the signal in binary. (Ignore the 10/16/1A\ and the 0 on the end).

The first three bits are the device. So that was

000 110011
Device 0, OBC 51.

How have you been creating signals so far? Did you make an upgrade with KM or RM? Either of those can translate the OBC 51 to the correct EFC.

Also, even though REC80(45) is working, you might get more reliable results switching to RECS80(90) using the protocols.ini entry for RM that Jon posted.

I've been using keymaster to make the upgrade. I have not treaded on the remote master yet. I tried yesterday, but the java gave me this error when I started it:

java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0
at com.hifiremote.jp1.Remote.load(Remote.java:212)
at com.hifiremote.jp1.KeyMapMaster.<init>(KeyMapMaster.java:213)
at com.hifiremote.jp1.RemoteMaster.main(RemoteMaster.java:12)

Caught exception in RemoteMaster.main()!
java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0
at com.hifiremote.jp1.Remote.load(Remote.java:212)
at com.hifiremote.jp1.KeyMapMaster.<init>(KeyMapMaster.java:213)
at com.hifiremote.jp1.RemoteMaster.main(RemoteMaster.java:12)

How would I implement the settings from the protocol.ini from Jon into KM until I can get some help on the RM error? Do you think the RECS80(90) is the "more correct" device for both the keypad.ccf and the Z880.ccf?

RECS80(90) is the unmodulated version of the protocol. IIRC, RECS80(45) is something like 33 KHz. So, if the dealer was correct, RECS80(90) is probably the better version.

You might look in this thread that has links to installation instructions.

Try KM v8.24. I added 'RECS80 (90)' support.

I posted the Z-880 keymaster file in the Yahoo Groups. It turns out I have a bad unit (picture is not up to snuff-too bright). But I can get it to switch sources and zones with this setup.

I will try to get the Z-100/Z-150 working at a later time.
