RCA DVR40 DTivo with urc6131
I have tried all of the upgrades and the code searches,
but unable to actually get the original remote setup.
most functions work, but with original tivo peanut remote,
when you hit guide and then info, you go to the guide option
filters.
The urc6131 is jp mod, but not learning and I do not have
a mod original RCA DVR40 Tivo remote.
The urc 6131 (one for all) actually has everybutton that the
original peanut remote has, so it should be capable of exact
replication of functions... in theory.
does anyone know of a full functioning upgrade or code that
replicates all functions of the original peanut style. or know of
an upgrade?
much thanks in advance....

Have you tried SAT/1142?

thanks Greg, I just tried this one and it works, thanks... the old one being PVR 0618, had several issues, so did the upgrades, they all worked, but you know how it is, a single feature, just keep frustrating me, and that was fixed with your 1142 code. ahhhh, peace at last..
thanks for the info... will start to play with this one,
now if only I could find a code for an old sanyo amp... I might actually get some sleep hehehehe

All the non-Sony Tivo codes use the same protocol, device codes and command codes, so you can use any of the non-Sony Tivo upgrades from the file section and then customize the button layout as much as you want.

thanks ... I actually tried the upgrades and they were farther from the original peanut, closest was the cab/1142.
I have been hunting for a nice and affordable replacement remote for the peanut pvr's, and I am impressed with the urc6131, wish it was learning, but still very nice.
so far, the additions to the cab/1142 that I can find that would make
a complete orig peanut is:
live tv
list
clear
these seem to be the only functions missing from code 1142 and should be easily added, downside is that unless you have a mod'd remote, you would not be able to get them

But that's the beauty of JP1... you can customize any upgrade to suit YOUR needs by simply reassigning the functions the way YOU want them. You do not have to use an upgrade the way it is written.mrsats wrote:I actually tried the upgrades and they were farther from the original peanut, closest was the cab/1142.

yes that is correct, I am learning all about that, thanks to this great place, I am using both ir and km, rm just wont load on my puter, so
from what I can see on the existing setup, is that it should be relatively easy to turn on 3 of the unused buttons and to assign a function.
Problem... dont have a learning remote to recode these functions, so if I am correct, I will either need to get a learning remote to record these functions, find an upgrade that includes them and strip them out or find a keymap for the tivo peanut and all its functions.
let me know if I have missed something

How about the TiVo Advanced Codes? I think you'll find your missing commands there (if they're not already defined in the upgrades).mrsats wrote:let me know if I have missed something

thats them, thanks. and that is great for me, but I think all the codes may be available in the stock code, so before I modify, or move a function that is already there, I am exploring the whole idea of the 6131 being a very affordable stock peanut replacement (without mod)
however, I think what I am missing is a key map for
the original cab/1142 after looking at a few of the files and upgrades in KM, I found the clear button from the peanut coded in the exit... duh
I think that the final 2 missing functions are probably coded in the cab/1142 I just cant find them... YET...
any hints?

hey greg, thanks for the cab/1142 code... that worked great...
I tried to read in IR and then dump into KM to view but that was wishfull thinking. Lost in Translation..hehehe
only two functions I am unable to locate now off of the stock 1142 code.:
live tv and list. I am banking they are hidden somewhere

They are not hidden anywhere. Use the advanced codes to create keymoves for them.
I put List on the PVR Menu button, since it was just a dupe of the Menu button. The EFC is 166.
I have one of the original DTiVos, so was used to having a combined button for Live TV/Guide. So I assigned EFC 150 to the Guide button.
It toggles the Guide on/off if you are watching Live TV, or switches to Live TV if you are in a menu.

good plan for my personal remote... I was trying to be lazy, well not lazy but if you had 50 to do (not mod'd) cab/1142 is easy.... hehehehe, and I assume that when that code was set up, it probably has all the functions, I just cant figure it out yet.
being relatively new to this JP1, I like IR but KM is nice to view actual buttons, moves and keys... do you know of a way to take a read of cab/1142 and dump into km or take an IR rdf and import into IR.
I would really like to find a way to dissassemble or view OFA's factory settingsin KM.

There is no way to view the factory settings. They are built into ROM, which JP1 can't access. JP1 can only read/write the EEPROM.
