Motorola 6802 HD-DVR Remote Code

Post by shagler »

I am looking for the EFC code that will allow me to program my JP1 remote (15-1994) with one more function. I was able to find a good upgrade code file in the jp1 yahoo groups.

Interestingly enough there is a code that allows the DVR to Skip forward where the remote that was provided by Comcast didn't have it. The Protocol for this device is "00C4" (GI Cable) and the Skip forward EFC is 173.

What I would like to find is the Replay function EFC code. Replay skips backwards ~10 seconds.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

If te OEM remote has this function, you can learn it and IR will tell you the EFC. If it doesn't make sure you have the latest version of IR.

I'm guessing that the upgrade you found is this: Motorola - DCT6208-URC8810.txt. Looking at the OBCs in that upgrade I see that the OBC for the SKIP button is 63 and that OBCs 62 and 64 are unaccounted for, so I would try those first (the EFCs are 177 and 034). Here are a few other EFCs for missing OBCs that you can try to see if they do anything: 083 081 077 204 211 242 179

I decided to do the trial and error method and found that Robman was close. It looks like an OBC of 060 and EFC of 179 does the trick. Put that into my 15-994 and now I have replay on the 6208 just like the original remote.

Thanks to the offer of the original DCT5208 file...it definatlel made the job much easier.

I was wondering if anyone found discrete On/Off codes available for this cable box.
