Pioneer XR-P60C & Holmes Fan

Post by StealthAngel »

Hey guys,

First off I want to mention what a great resource this forum and tools directory is. Just recieved a URC-6131M from surf remotes. So far i've been able to install the extender, setup my tivo series 2, zenith tv, dvd player and vcr without a bit of problems. I've even been able to setup up a few DSMs, LKPs, and toadtogs without a problem.

Sadly I still have two devices that I cant find upgrade or codes for. Those items would be:
A Pioneer XR-P60C mini-stereo
A Holmes Remote Control Fan - http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?lev ... 69&afsrc=1

The stereo is about 6 years old but still works perfectly but I havent been able to get any URC to work with it since i've bought it. As for the fan I know this might be asking for to much but it would be great to control my fan from my remote! :)

If anyone knows of a place I could download a upgrade for one of these devices I'd be in your debt.

Does the fan's remote use IR or RF? In other words, do you have to point the remote at the fan to work it (ie, IR) or can you use the remote from another room even and it still works (RF). If it's the latter then you're outta luck, but if it's the former then it might be possible.

As you don't have a learning remote, you will probably need to send your remotes to someone to have them capture the signals. (Or you could just buy a $19 URC-8811 for this purpose).

The remote for the Holmes fan is IR.
The URC-8811 you speak of, is it JP1 ready, and where would you suggest I pick up up at?
I'd be more then willing to create my own upgrades just need a bit more information. Do you have a link or two to a couple tutors talking about this? I've already read your JP1 startup guide and the what and why of JP1 guide.

Thanks for the reply, Robman.

The URC-8811 is the cheapest JP1-ready learning remote, so it's a worthy addition to any JP1-ers arsenal, even if you never use it as a remote. I can sell you one for $19 if you want.

It's sounds like you've already read my start up guide, and I don't have anything simpler than that to show you.

Thanks Robman. I picked up a 8811 and will try building an upgrade.
