Wow, they're certainly trying to make it hard to do accidentally. I mean, hold 2 and 8 simultaneously, and that's after having to pull the batteries, wow.mathdon wrote:Here is yet another variant of the Factory Reset method. I have just bought a URC-7145 Evolve 4. I tried a long press of Magic and then 981 but it didn't work. An internet search gave the correct method:
I have tested this and it does work.
- 1. Remove a battery from the remote and press a button with it removed.
2. Reinsert the battery, the LED should blink twice.
3. Press the digits 2 and 8 simultaneously within 6 seconds. The LED should blink twice and stays on.
4. Enter the code 9 8 1. The LED will blink 4 times.

Re: MFR RESET - Instructions
I just bricked a 3680 trying out a new cable (that did not work). I was able to tell just before my previous cable died.
It has no lights to guide an MF reset.
Once I have a working cable, is there a way to reset the remote using the Remote Master program?

I would just load your last good config and see if it works.
