Site availability
The site has been down for the last couple of days, due to some "maintenance" being performed by GoDaddy. They told me it is because I am on a shared server and all they could offer me was to double what I am already paying them to get onto a dedicated server. I'm already paying too much money to keep this site running, so I wasn't going to do that. I may have to start looking around for a new ISP, but then the thought of all the work that I just completed to get this version up and running, and how much would I have to do all over again to set it up on a new server is also very daunting.

Re: Site availability
Maybe you could post something at the GitHub site when that happens?

Re: Site availability
I had a couple of thoughts...
1) I have been enjoying this site for 23 years without paying a penny and I haven't missed many days lurking here even though I don't currently use a JP1 remote. I resist subscriptions as much as possible, but would gladly sign up for supporting this website financially.
2) The work you did to upgrade to the current version of phpBB wouldn't need to be redone assuming you switch to an ISP that supports phpBB.

Re: Site availability
You could try a copy of the site on a pay as you go host like NearlyFreeSpeech.net. For a minimal cost you would see if the site can be easily transferred to another service. The Robman wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 12:55 pm The site has been down for the last couple of days, due to some "maintenance" being performed by GoDaddy.
