Do you still have at least one other (non-learning) JP1 remote that you would use if there was an upgrade available? If yes, then you don't need a learning remote with a good layout, you just need a learning remote, any JP1 learner would do, as you would just use it to capture the signals. If there are none available in the shops, check ebay. If you have a modern FTDI cable, just be sure to by an equivalent remote as older EEPROM remotes won't work with that cable (without an adapter).cloneman wrote: Sun Nov 09, 2025 5:17 pm Unfortunately no device upgrade for my Telus cable box. My last JP1 remote with learning (Atlas 1055) died years ago otherwise I would attempt to built one myself. What about an IR Widget? Is it a possible alternative to a learning remote?
Any thoughts on alternative JP1 remotes with learning that have a good layout for a cable box/pvr and at least 4 macro keys?
