Upgrade Spectrum Remote into my old extended URC-8910

Post by airauto »

I tried to learn signals using a URC-8910B02, but it does not learn since I loaded an extender. Is there a way to remove the extender and load the original code. I tried a operation reset, but it didn?t work. Any help would be appreciated.

Sure there is. The easiest way is, if you have a backup RMIR file from before installing the extender, just load that into the remote.

If you don't have a backup, take the batteries out for a minute, then put them back in and do a Master Reset, then download from the remote and save this rmir file as a backup for next time.

Thanks for the help. It worked. I've learned all settings for the Spectrum remote. Can you please explain Other Settings and creating macros in RMIR 3.15 for URC 6131 in RMIR 3.15 my old version of RMIR uses T_PVR X_PVR AUD_O X_AUD etc. Thanks again.

I don't think anything has changed in RMIR regarding how you set up macros. Besides, if you just re-load your old rmir file, which has the extender in it, and activate the extender, you should be back to where you started. Then all you have to do is add the upgrade that you just created, based on the learned signals, for the Spectrum.
