I'm new to JP1 Remotes and software tools. Can you recommend a beginner-friendly guide or tutorial for using IR, KM, or RemoteMaster to customize remote functions?

Sure, on the upper portion of this page is a link to our Wiki, everything you need is in there. KM and IR are absolete, all you need is RM and RMIR (which are both parts of the same program).
