Hidden discrete codes for newer Sony OLED TVs

2000+ keystroke trials earned me these discrete codes on the A80J Sony:

All these generated a message saying that the app has been disabled. But that is probably the reason why they are not documented...

(Should be Sony15, not Sony 12/15) To my knowledge, these are not "hidden" but "well known". "Bravia sync" is some CEC-Excercise (at least I think so), and the last one show the local USB-disk; it is even present on my standard remote ("title list").

Thanks for the streaming codes. As Barf said, the BS (Bravia sync) codes have been known for a long time. They're in an upgrade I made a decade ago. All are Sony15, not 12/15. Here are some more BS transport control commands and a couple that overlap your list. My EFCs won't make any sense because I use a combo protocol (12/15/20).

Hi all, similar question on an A80J. All codes work fine, but since I have a PS3 connected to HDMI3 via CEC as well as a FireStick, the HDMI3 command by default selects (and powers up) the PS3, even if I'm selecting HDMI3 to go to Firestick, which is always on. I noticed the Input menu on the TV has discrete "PlayerN" labels for the HDMI3 devces. This is a long shot, but is there any way to select these "Player" devices directly with an EFC?

Thanks! I figured out that I could hit the INPUT button and arrow right once and it's 2 presses instead of 1 but hey...

In the process, I noticed I can't learn Sony remote codes from the original A80J Sony remote using any of my XSight 18s. I had heard it was an RF remote, that might be why.

Try looking at the Sony remote through your cellphone camera, digital cameras can "see" IR signals, so you will see a flashing if it's sending an IR signal. Of course, if it doesn't even have an IR window or visible IR-LED then yeah, it's probably RF or Bluetooth.

Good point! The camera shows nothing. Now I'm curious how the guy who posted the A80J in the file section got all those IR codes. Does he have an oscilloscope?

Thanks, Robman, for keeping this site going for so many years. It's a wonderful resource I keep returning to over and over again. Just when I think all my remotes are exactly as they should be, I think of some other way I could put them to work.

Back on the original topic, I just found this. Apparently some Sony remotes can function in BT or IR mode:

I can confirm that if I disable Bluetooth, the remote sends IR and the Xsight can learn IR commands from it. Bluetooth is required for Google Assistant.

I have a newish (bought it after Xmas year before last) X85J, here's the upgrade

The original remote is BOTH IR and BT. Out of the box it's IR, but once you pair it to the TV, it's BT. So, I had to unpair it from the TV to generate the upgrade for the Xsight.
