Looks good you did a nice job of activities by using macros
The 3660 only has volume punch thru so you do have an advantage with 7880's
transport and channel punch thru. Thank you It gave me food for thought

Do we need segment 1A in the RDF? I can't see any reason for it

It is there because there was a segment 1A in my URC3660 when I received it from you, for which again many thanks. So the remote clearly supports it, though it seems to be of little significance,

I believe segment 1A has something to do with activities buttons though i do not know what.
I think i deleted the segment once and it freed up the activities buttons but that is not the safest way to do it.
Since i have been playing with activities and since i do not use them
i found a work around to use the activities buttons.
First I put a macro on watch tv. I put dev 4 upload it to remote then download it
The purpose for this is to make my macro part of the original data
Then click preserve original data delete the watch tv assignment segment click apply then upload I now can use the watch tv for something else including using it as a device key by a macro of just dev 4 or for other macros. This procedure needs to be repeated with preserve data if you change something in your setup. since the watch tv will be put back on future downloads
Once you get to know how to do this it is pretty simple to repeat

BTW

Thank You Mathdon for all your hard work in this.
I believe all features of this remote have been discovered
With the features you added to RMIR this remote is just about equivalent to
any of the remotes that have extenders added to them

Great Job Mathdon keep up the good work

Just a heads up... Walmart seems to be putting these remotes on clearance to clear them out. Was able to grab an extra for $4.

Should hoard a few if you want some before they're all gone. Clearance prices may vary depending on store.

Today I confirmed something I suspected a while ago, when I previously reported a bricked 3660.

I carelessly connected the JP1 cable backwards when performing an upload. Now, the TV button just blinks constantly. The remote doesn't seem to respond to any button presses. Attempts at a fresh upload with the connector in the correct orientation also don't help.

That's... incredibly unfortunate.

Have you tried a complete reset? Remove the batteries, then press a key to discharge any remaining capacitance before replacing the batteries. It may be stuck in an infinite loop that this would resolve.

How can we avoid bricking it? How can we tell which side is pin 1?
I also ordered 3 of them and they are on the way to HK, where I stay.

Are the pins a little shorter or something for this remote? I cant seem to make a connection with this remote. The remote is never detected when i try to read it. My JP programmer maybe has to be replaced.

They look normal to me.

Ya i see that there. I feel my ends that go over the pins are loose. They seem to be falling off the pins easy. Might be time for a new one.
