RMIR MultiMacro

Post by MrMoody »

What needs to be done in order for the latest RMIR to show the MultiMacro button? In the RDF I've added segment $02 to the list and the [MultiMacros] section after [Buttons] but I must still be missing something.

What remote are you talking about? Post your RDF for me to look at, as nothing further should be needed.

This is the URC-7980. I'm pretty certain it won't work but I wanted to test my segmented remotes and see if any of them have undocumented/undiscovered support.

I think Its the MacroSupport=3 line that's giving you problems

Hmm, the 3660 has the same line in it.

HamburgerHelper1 is correct that you should not have changed MacroSupport value from 2 to 3. Read the entry for MacroSupport in RDF4Spec_Addendum_rev21 in the Docs folder of your RMIR installation. Values 2 and 3 mean very different things, 3 applies to the URC-3660 but not to the URC-7980. Value 2 means that the remote supports Controlled Macros. The combination of Controlled Macros and MultiMacros is not supported in RMIR as we have not seen a remote that supports it. If you want to test MultiMacros in the URC-7980 then you need to turn Controlled Macros off, either by deleting the MacroSupport entry or setting it to 1.
