369006 New Remote URC-3660
Many thanks for the remote, which arrived today. I have done some testing of my own with it and found that neither Device buttons nor the two Held keys support normal macros. You had already found that they do not support Real-time macros, so I have updated the RDF to bar them from any form of macro. That leaves the color keys. As these support MultiMacros, and even a single macro is stored as a MultiMacro with one entry, I was not surprised to learn from you that they do not support Real-time Macros. To meet this, I have amended the meaning of "All" to mean all buttons that support normal macros but not MultiMacros, as I am sure this will apply to any remote with similar features.
I see now that you have sprung yet more discoveries on me
which I will now study, aided by my new remote
.

Please add the following entries into the [General] section of the RDF:
The first one fixes the Learned Signal issue. The second is unrelated but appears to be necessary, based on the default device upgrades present in the remote as new when I did a raw download of it. For the Learned Signal fix to be effective, you need to download the remote afresh, as a saved .rmir file will have the wrong format specified.
Code: Select all
LearnedFormat=3

New Remote URC-3660
affirmative learned issue fixed
Hi - I've been doing this JP1 thing off and on since the days of the Cinema 7. I just got an LG C1 and now have the need to reprogram some remotes....I have many for backup, (mostly 6131n and variants). I ran across this thread and picked up the ONN remote at Walmart. This is a nice remote. The buttons are arranged so that it is very familiar to me coming from the 6131. My question is what became of phantom buttons? I seem to remember these were virtual buttons that you could park EFCs on to use in Macros. All of the remotes I have experience with had phantoms and I don't see them here. Does anyone know their intended purpose and why they are gone?
No one seems to have much use for phantom keys these days, so they don't get put in new RDFs by default. Shifted keys can be used for the same purposes, primarily macros.
This remote seems to have some unused keycodes. $27, $3D, $3E, $3F should work I believe.

$27 is Mute, but I agree that $3D, $3E and $3F are unused.

. I can confirm this, and indeed the long press is a genuine multimacro. If you put two macros on the "1" key then a short press always gives the function "1", a long press alternates between the two macros. I really don't know how to handle this in the RDF, other than to include a note explaining that if you add a key to the [MultiMacros] entry then it behaves this way but you lose the ability to put a Real-time Macro on it.
Edit: The color keys behave in the same way if you put a function on them. A short press sends the function, a long one is needed to run the next macro of the multimacro.
Edit 2: Ah, I had missed that the instructions for the color keys say this, a 3-second press is needed for the macro to be sent. So in adding other keys to the [MultiMacro] section they are behaving exactly as described for the color keys. However, with both the color and added keys, the multimacros can be device-specific by adding multiple DSMs for the same device and key, then repeating this for a different device but the same key.

FascinatingAs an experiment I added 1=0 to the [MultiMacros] Line
I put a normal Macro on the "1" key
A short press gave me my digit "1" and a long press ran my Macro

Almost as if we need two RDF'S for this remote with an explanation in name of RDF ?
Or what about some sort of separate Toggle program to supplement RMIR
This program would alter RDF before RMIR opens
Just throwing an idea out there

@gregm60,
I have added 3 phantoms to the RDF, let me know if you need more than that.

So where are we going to leave off for this RDF.
Include Instructions/Notes that a user can set up some keys to use Real time Macro's
and that they can not be Multi Macro and Vise Versa. It still leaves a lot of option's. A user can edit the RDF inserting what keys they want Real time macros on and Make other keys MultiMacro if they so choose.
Anyone have Idea's?

Re: New Remote URC-3660
Please be patient! New build of RMIR coming shortly that will allow you to select whether to use a key for a MultiMacro or a Real-time Macro. But this is not a simple change and is taking time to develop and test.HamburgerHelper1 wrote:So where are we going to leave off for this RDF. ... Anyone have Idea's?

wow i had no idea i figured with this limit in the remote we would just manually edit RDF to our liking
Thank you for working on it

Not sure what this is doing if anything but 9xx command 989 followed by digits 1 2 3 4
returns 3 blinks of the LED like this is some sort of password code or lock/unlock
I believe the 989 code is undocumented

I have now posted development build RMIR v2.14.8 in the RMIR Development folder on SourceForge. This has major improvements for the URC-3660 (and URC-3661). When creating a macro, or a DSM on the Special Functions tab, you are offered a choice of Normal, Real-time or Multi, with the editor that opens allowing creation on only the buttons that support the chosen type. This feature applies now to all remotes that support more than one type of macro, so providing improved support for MultiMacros for all remotes that support them. BTW Development build 7 was overtaken by events, so not issued - you haven't missed it
.
On the URC-3660 and similar, a short press of a button with a MultiMacro sends the normal signal assigned to that button, with a longer press required to send the MultiMacro. This enables any key to have, in effect, an LKP (Long Key Press). Just create a MultiMacro on the key with one button that is a phantom button and assign the function required on the LKP to that phantom. To aid in this, I have added 8 phantom buttons to the remote. This is, of course, just one possible use of MultiMacros but it is an interesting one, giving LKP support without an extender. It even allows Device-Specific LKPs by doing this on the Special Functions tab.
This update has required substantial changes to the code, so please give it a good test and report any bugs or other misbehaviour.

RMIR.v2.14.8 sometimes when making realtime macro can't add more keys click ok then edit sometimes can add more also sometimes they show up as normal macro not real-time
here is rmaster.err file
edit1 If i put a realtime DSM macro on a key in one device that key is not available to use for another device
Multi DSM somtimes limited to RGBY Keys even if edit and other times all keys are available
EDIT after i make one multi DSM and try to make a second one only RGBY keys are available to put one on. If i delete the 1st macro then try and make another multi DSM all keys are available to place a macro on
