programming my yamaha reciever AVR rx465 w/ my new RCAP05BR.

Post by thebrain »

I had the RCA a few years ago untill it was dropped on the floor.it's now been replaced.
I've managed to program my samsung TV w/ the 4 digit code.

now I'd like to program my AVR.

if I remember correctly, I was forced to use learn function because the yamahas have a on button and a off button.
think I used live as the on and power as the off.

I've managed to get the yamaha to turn off w/ main power button using 4 digit code 1276, can't adjust volume or other functions yet.
should I use the learn to power it on?

edit when I turn yamaha volume down it did'nt change however my samsung TV s volume did change.

thanks for advice on Yamaha

Sounds like your punch thru device is the TV. Just turn it off or change to AVR.

The advanced code or efc for yamaha are 00246 & 00248. The rca takes 5 digit efc's.

To map them:

1. aud
2. press and ho;d SET for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 9 4
4. tap SET for one blink
5. enter 5 digit efc
6. pick a key

My question is where did you get a new RCRP05B? They have been discontinued for years.
