oarc05g won't learn on select key

Post by ckeays »

Hi Everyone.

I have a oarc05g learning remote. The remote successfully learned all commands in all modes except TV mode. In TV mode it will not learn commands for keys, 0, LAST, MUTE, and OK/ENTER.

So I thought I would try the direct code entry. I found the TV code for my TV, however the OK/Enter command is wrong. All other commands are correct.

Since the remote is a learning remote, I tried to force it to learn the OK/Enter command from the original remote. This has failed every time.

I tried the obvious, new batteries, operational reset (980), and still nothing.
The OK/Enter key will successfully learn any code in all other modes except TV mode.

The TV code is 10000 for a Sony TV. (It's actually an RCA TV, but uses Sony12 protocol)

Just curious if anyone has this issue?

This is the remote that we decided wasn't compatible with JP1, right?

Yes that's the one. 5 device One For ALL Learning Remote.

I did manage to get another remote (exactly the same) to work with the select key in TV mode.

weird, the remote is new. The OK/enter key and membrane are fine (it learns and works in all other modes)

I thought a reset would clear everything but it did not help.

After multiple operational resets (setup, 980), the select key now learns in TV mode.
