Hi,
I've order a URC-7955 incl. a JP1 cable. Will arrive in a couple of days. So I've started to play around with RemoteMaster without any URC to see what could be possible. But the beginning seems to be hard to me.

My devices:
- TV: Samsung LE46A656
- AVR: Yamaha RX-V475
- CableBox: Vu+ Solo SE
- VoD: Apple TV (2nd Gen)
- Game: Nintendo Switch

If haven't found any Codes in then File Section for my devices. Where can I find them? Do I need to download any Files?

Another challenge will be the activities. I'm pretty unsure that all will work like i wish.

All devices are connected to a power strip which is turned off over night.
If i switch the power strip on, all devices start, except the AVR which will be in standby with HDMI-pass-through.
So, if i watch TV the sound will be played from TV.

I could use the AV-Button the wake up the AVR and switch to HDMI1.
But what if i switch from TV with AVR:on to VoD?
If AV-Button powers the AVR and switch to HDMI2, the AVR could be on or off?!
How can the URC know the current state of the AVR?!

The Logitech Harmony seems to know the last state of a device...but what about the URC?

with best regards
fenris

Hmm... I found all of your devices in the file section except the Switch which will be impossible to control anyway. The model doesn't have to be exact. Any Vu+ Solo will work as will any Samsung TV and Yamaha in the x75 range.

URC doesn't need to know states because it uses discrete on and off, not toggles like you find on the original remotes. If your AVR is already on and you send on, it will just stay on. Same goes for off and all your inputs. Resending a command for a state it's already in won't do anything.

The files for Apple TV 2 seem not to be compatible to the urc7955

Every single Sansung TV upgrade that we have uses the same protocol and device codes, so the only problem with picking the wrong one is that it might not include all of the buttons that your TV supports. Besides, I believe the URC-7955 has learning, so you can use that to get the codes for any missing buttons.

Here's a Samsung TV master file upgrade, which will include more functions than your TV supports.

Regarding the Apple TV, while many of the upgrades here use a homemade executor, which would not be compatible with the 7955, there are 3 that are built using the official Apple executor, which is not only compatible with the 7955, it's already built-in.

Hi,
changed my order from 7955 to 1280.
URC and USB-Adapter arrived yesterday.
I`ve bought this one:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07TXVRQ7V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wired all up like here: http://hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.php/JP1_Cables
Unfortunately the wires have different colors like in the wiki.
So i wired up:
Pin1: free
Pin2: RTS

Pin3: GND
Pin4: TXD

Pin5: free
Pin6: RXD

Pluged into USB, installed driver, pludged in the urc, the power-button lights up twice.
All seems to be good.
But i can`t download anything from urc.
Now i`m stuck...

Do i have to plugin batteries into the urc???

^^
Seems to work now. Had to follow the installation instructions from here:
