Hello,

I have an Xsight Touch and I use the new software. I have a question.
My TV has the source selection in the AV button. On my other devices the AV button is not in use. Is it possible to addign it to the Source selection of the TV in every device? When i have to switch to a different source I always have to go to TV first. A bit like the volume lock so that the vlume control is always the TV.

I hope to hear how I can do this!

Twan

Try this, open your .rmir file and go to the Devices tab, then for each device upgrade, except the TV device, do this:

1. Select the device upgrade and click Edit
2. In the Device Upgrade Editor (RM) pane, select the Buttons tab
3. On the right side of the screen, ensure that the Functions for device radio button is selected, and select your TV upgrade from the drop down
4. Drag the AV function from the right over to the AV button on the left
5. Click OK

I tried this but i have problems connecting my remote to the PC. At first I wasn't able to put the USB connector to the remote. That seems to work now. But When I chose upload or download from remote I get an error that there is no remote found. wasn't there a setting for this? I get the message on the remote that it is charging so USB connection to pc seems to be ok...

connection is working. I used the instructions for one device and it works. The source select / av menu shows up. Only one thing I didn't think about. You also have to use the up, down and ok buttons to actually switch to another source. These are in use in the otherdevices so I'm afraid this leads to niothing. Or does someone have an idea how to do this?

And this is the classic reason why people always try to find discrete codes for their devices. You didn't mention which TV you have nor which upgrade you are using for it, so please supply that information and we can see if we know anything about discrete codes.

If you have resolved your connection issue, don't forget to update the folks in the other thread, and tell them what you did, so they don't spend any more time trying to fix it for you.

this has nothing to do with codes. It is that you need more buttons than AV only. You also need up, down and ok to make a choice. What I said before the AV function is not in use in other devices soI can use it in each device for the av function of the tv. But up, down and ok are in use for the device itself. I hope this explains it better

I take it from your response that you've never heard of discrete codes and therefore don't know what they do.

Discrete codes are button codes that eliminate the need for menu's and scrolling, etc as they do the thing that the menu selection would have done. In your case, if there are discrete codes for your TV (you still haven't supplied the info that I requested, so I don't know if they exist), you could program the correct discrete code to the AV button in each mode, and it would take you directly to the DVD input, or HMDI input, or whatever, without the need to scroll a menu.

ok, I understand what you mean. I don't know if this works for my tv. what would you need to find out if these discrete codes exist?

TV, not remote.

You’re also the perfect case for activities, no AV button required.

my TV is a Philips 37PFL9603D/10

the AV button is available in all other devices. Activities you have to place in the section above or not? I think it is better if I can put a code on the AV button in each device that switches to the device.

Use this upgrade and assign the appropriate "Zap_to..." function to the AV button in each device.

Activities would still work best since they would switch automatically.
