i could not figure out how to add pic inline so here is link
Will upload raw file when JP1 adapter arrives
Weird to find out i had a jp1 remote all these years and did not know it
there is no model number on them and the jp1 pins are under the paper label on back, the lighted one had no pins and the non-lighted one had pins already installed

Here are the instructions (from the FAQ link at the top of the page):

Your original image was too big to display in the forum, so I also created a thumbnail size copy, click on the image to see the large version:

If you're able to get some downloads, I'll help you with the RDF. If your parallel cable doesn't work anymore, maybe you should get a DIY JP1 Adapter (they're about $14 shipped, IIRC) which you can use with your modern JP1 cable. _________________ Rob

Quite possibly. I've never heard of a remote having pins but not having the parts to support them, but anything's possible. Typically when parts are missing the pins are missing too.

i thought weird too have pins and maybe not all the parts
I just found out it does not support 980 981 but does have a reset button
for 980/981 press setup device lights up enter 980 light goes out
when enter a 3 digit device code device blinks 3 times
so this one is new to me i sure hope the adapter works for it |

Does it say UEI or JP1 anywhere on the remote? I don't see it in your images, so what about the back of the remote or the other side of the PCB? Do you still have the user manual, or better yet, is it online somewhere? If so, what do the setup codes look like? Are they UEI setup codes, or perhaps UEI codes with a displacement, like where old RCA remotes had UEI setup codes plus 30. _________________ Rob

yes right by the pins is printed jp1 but must not be uei
numbers on one remote is 601okie m87b-01cr dated 2006
no manual online i found substitute going by the okie number
the other remote has porinted haote
TM87C-RMXXX REV 03 DATED 2006
The closes i found was this link
https://remotes-world.com/products/samsung-tv-kie-20070608?PageSpeed=noscript the pic looks correct for this remote
I also just found out it does not support any 9xx commands
so programming these is probably futile |

gnd . . sda
wp . . scl |

I would try to read the eeprom on its own, If you don't have the adapter or the ability to remove and resolder the eeprom, you can do it in circuit but you will have to hold the mcu in reset so it does not interfere with the eeprom programming.
For this you will need to know what the mcu is then find the reset pin.
I can't see what it is in the picture.
I am sure for a samsung remote there will be a datasheet somewhere.
Look at the pinout to find the reset pin. |

ok so adapter arrived but still get unable to read signature
the jp1 pinout has nc printed at pin 2 so i would need do some soldering.
It is the s3c80 28 pin chip but i did not see the 28 pin chip in the schematics section
and since this remote does not support 9xx commands it must be programmed differently.
the eeprom number is A21sc
I am not sure if this remote is worth pursueing but i will probably try anyway
at least until it works or i break it |
