Hi forum members

I followed the instructions on the Multichoice pamphlet marked 707426

Just FYI, for anyone else reading this, the user manual (ie, the pamphlet marked 707426) can be downloaded here:
https://www.manualslib.com/download/1402846/Multichoice-A3.html
The listed code for Samsung TVs is 00060
Method 1: Brand Set- Find the code for the selected device in the "Brand set list". Codes are listed by type of device and brand. If the brand or device is not listed in the "Brand set list", go to www.dstv.com
- Set the dial to the mode (A, B, C or D) that you want programmed to control the selected device.
- Press and hold the SHIFT button until the mode window gives three yellow blinks.
- Press the GREEN button.
- Enter the 5-digit brand code using the number buttons on the remote control.
- Search the models by pressing the RIGHT arrow until the device you are trying to control switches on or off (this confirms that you have the correct code).
- All button presses will be acknowledged by a single yellow blink. If the mode window gives five red blinks, you have searched all the available models for that brand.
- Press HELP to confirm the code. The mode window gives three green blinks to indicate successful completion.
Method 2: Direct Set
If you have the specific device code (obtained from the web manual or a previous Code Verification) the following steps can be followed to program the remote:- Set the dial to the mode (A, B, C or D) that you want programmed to control the selected device.
- Press and hold the SHIFT button until the mode window gives three yellow blinks.
- Enter the 5-digit device code using the number buttons on the remote control.
- All button presses will be acknowledged by a single yellow blink. If the mode window gives three red blinks, you have entered an invalid code.
- The mode window will give three green blinks to indicate successful completion and will automatically return to the normal operational mode.

Leon, if you followed those instructions above, please indicate where things went wrong. In other words, did you get the right blinks at each stage? _________________ Rob

hi Rob,
many thanks for the info, which i followed with success!
unfortunately I find that the A3 layout is not really user friendly as far as TV control is concerned, so back to square one.
Thanks again for your trouble

Then maybe you should find a good JP1 remote to replace it, preferably one that comes with a USB cable. In the US the OARUSB04G would be a good choice. In Europe it's called the URC-6440. So why not see if anything like that is available near you. _________________ Rob
