Error Downloading from Remote (URC6450) - solved

Post by seeThor »

Hi All. I'm kindly asking for some help. I had received an error from RMIR while trying to download from my URC6450. The precise error message is as follows:

Error downloading from remote.

This may well be the result of a bug in the RMIR software. To help us, please do a raw download as follows. Close RMIR, re-open it and click on "Raw download" on the Remote menu. Click the download button on the window that then opens. When the download finishes, click Save. Accept the default filename that is offered. Then post the resulting file in the JP1 Software forum for the experts to examine.

This is the raw download file:

This is the RMIR file I am trying to upload:

Let me describe the steps I took that got me to this place the best I can.
I had installed the v1.4 extender on this remote. After using it for a while I decided that I didn't want it on the remote any longer. So to remove it I copied over the settings.bin file on the remote to the Settings_reset_OARUSB04G(257601).bin file.

Any help with this matter would be much appreciated.

You can also download to the remote by simply dragging and dropping the bin file from file explorer onto the remote which shows up as a USB drive.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am familiar with that method. This issue has become moot. I copied a different settings.bin file that I had saved before installing the extender and this seem to fix it. The remote got into a weird state, but somehow I was able to recover.

thanks.
