4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC 11-6440 R02
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes - 6440 has USB
6. Still have original remote? NO - but I know it is called RC-823S
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? TUN/2451 TUN/2806
10. Learning remote question? n/a
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes
12. If you have a OARUSB04G, URC-6440 (or similar) remote, have you tried simpleset.com? Yes
Newbie warning - I'm very new in this Forum, so I hope I do not make too many mistakes, and if I do, I'm sorry.
I can post images of the remote, etc. But I do not have the original remote, and I am considering to buy one.
I have IrScrutinizer, and prober hardware.
I have found ~60% or the codes by trial and error, on by one.
Protocol: NEC
D: 210
S: 3 and 4
I would love to post the codes I have found, but the most important I am missing is the 'Play' function, I have skip, stop etc. but 'Play/Pause' is not within these device codes.
Here are some codes I have found:
Power: NEC 210 4 203
Tuning+: NEC 210 3 138
Tuning-: NEC 210 3 139
(You cannot tune the radio without a remote...
I have managed to transfer these codes to my URC 6440, and it is working great.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards

When you say NEC, do you mean NEC1 or NEC2? I assume it's NEC1. Did you cycle through all 256 OBCs in each of the 3 and 4 sub-device codes? How did you end up focusing on the 3 and 4 sub-device codes? Did you also try 108 and 109 (example functions here) or 6 and 7 (examples here). There are some sub-device 2 functions here. _________________ Rob

Thanks for a quick response!
I found the two sub-device numberes based on the two working codes for the URC-6440 code list. (2451(2806).
I guess NEC1 - IrScrutinizer just says NEC. They repeat as they should, so I do not think it is NEC2..
I have cycled through each 256 codes, twice or more, since not all functions works when the raceiver is in CD or FM mode.
There is naturally the chance I have overlooked something by doing it this way...
I will give the other sub-device codes.
I make an excel sheet, import it into IrScrutinizer, and try one at a time.
I wish there was a little quicker method for sending, then right-click, ans select 'Transfer', my hands are getting tired... _________________ Blinded by the IR light... |

Hi jva, and welcome to the forum!

"NEC" means, just like with other systems, that no repeat whatsoever was found. If you press the buttons slightly longer (a few hundered milliseconds) you will (probably) become NEC1 or NEC2.

Kewl. Just be aware of risking to put the device in "hotel-mode" or something. (I sort-of did that with my Panasonic UB424...)

You are aware of "Add missing Fs"? (In the "Parametric remote" pane, right mouse button -> Advanced -> Add missing Fs).

middle mouse button should do what you are asking for. |

Barf> Thank you a lot, I feel welcome!
The middle button helped me greatly, and the 'Add missing Fs' too.
I went trough the suggested sub-devices, but I had no luck. Of course it is a risk doing it like this, but the radio is useless without a remote, and I got it for free, so if I brick it, I had fun doing it...
I hope I will find the remote one day, but for now, my incomplete list and the URC-6440 will work fine. It's a nice little stereo, that will do fine on my office.
Thanks again for your support! _________________ Blinded by the IR light... |

Congrutulations to your success! Let me just add that there are many places on the Internet where you can search for codes for a particular device, this is my list of places to look.

Good thinking
PS. Some time later, I discovered the IR signal that unlocked my Panasonic. |

Apparently the PLAY/PAUSE button is OBC 68 from sub-device code 26. _________________ Rob

It is working!!!
I could not make my 6440 remote to work suddenly, it is like it is a write protection mode, I will look into this later.
But I tried the new codes with IrScrutinizer, and they work!
I am expecially happy for the 'Preset Memory' and play/pause.
Super! Thanks!! _________________ Blinded by the IR light... |

Good to hear, and if you can't get the 6440 working, start a new thread on it as I'm sure one of the experts will have some suggestions. _________________ Rob
