Good evening,

As suggested in the post "How to create custom remote upgrade" on the slingbox.fandom.com website I would like to ask for help in creating a BIN for my Slingbox M2 so that I can use my DVB STB Skysat S2020. I have searched the files in the database and unfortunately this receiver is nowhere to be found on any list.

I bought a ONE FOR ALL remote (OARUSB04G) and used its learning function to learn the SKYSAT S2020 remote keys and they are all set and working fine while using the remote's STB device button. Would it be possible for someone here to help me make the custom remote?

the "settings.bin" file that I downloaded from the ONE FOR ALL is here:
https://gofile.io/?c=l6NqXC

I attempted to do it myself but stumbled a bit which is why I ask for the help of the JP1 community

I don't think anyone is going to risk downloading a file from that link, so could you please load the file in our Diagnosis Area folder and then post a link to it here.

thank you robman, every button I taught the One for All works on the Slingbox remote except the mute button and sat button (which I "learned" on the "tv input" button) is there something that can be done about it? if not at least I have the ability to channel surf, thank you very much

edit: dummy me didn't remember that I can always use the mute button provided by sling, as for the "Sat" button on my Skysat I was wondering if the "guide" button on the slingbox remote can be used for that command, as I mentioned earlier I used the "TV Input" button on the One for All. Are you able to do it based on the settings.bin file I provided or would you need me to provide a new settings.bin in which I "learn" the One For All's "Guide" the Skysat's "Sat" button

Try re-loading your settings.bin file into RMIR and check it, because I only see functions learned to the STB buttons, I don't see anything learned in TV mode.

I did include the 3 volume buttons (including MUTE) and I assigned them to the corresponding buttons in the Slingbox bin file, however I believe these show up as "custom" buttons in Slingplayer, but I'm not sure about that. I also copied VOL +/- to the PAGE +/- buttons as those were unused.

Could you try re-learning the SAT and MUTE buttons and then just post the OBC codes that you see for them, I can then add them to the bin file.

Rob:

the button "Guide" on the Device "STB" in the One For All is the "Sat" button on the Skysat remote, that one has OBC = 24

Mute has OBC = 25

Hope this helps

OBC 24 came over as "dash" and I programmed it to the ENTER button.
OBC 25 is what I got for MUTE and that is programmed to the MUTE button, which I believe is a custom button in Slingplayer.

I have updated the bin file and programmed 24 to the GUIDE button in this new version, and I've put MUTE on the LAST button, for easier access.

PS. I just noticed that we cross-posted earlier.

Just for info, the Volume and Mute buttons on the Slingplayer remote never send the codes to the device, Sling use them to control the volume of the Slingplayer itself. If you actually want to change the volume setting on the device you have to allocate the codes to some other buttons.

Alan, if we assign functions to the volume buttons in the Slingbox RDF, where do those functions end up, are they custom buttons?

No, basically you can't use them at all as they are never transmitted to the device.

You may not have noticed, but the default remote image doesn't have any volume buttons for just that reason.
