Hi Robman/Vicky, hope you can help:

Reopening this thread as I have acquired a second A/C (Keeprite DLCDHR12K1A1) and would like to finish this project:

Ultimately, the minimum I would need is "ON" (at 20Celcius) and "OFF" for both A/C's in Hex/Pronto as I'll be using USB-UIRT to transmit commands, so no need for a full protocol.

here's what I have:

For both A/C I have learned some codes to a URC-9910

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=25289

DVD 1 = TCL Off
DVD 2 = TCL ON
DVD 4 = Keeprite Off
DVD 5 = Keeprite On

The TCL doesnt respond to the learned signals, but the Keeprite does; the ON command contains the temperature (23C in this case).

I have also learned the same codes to USB-UIRT but none works when transmitting (the signal is very short when learning via USB-UIRT and I have to manually ask the app to save as it doesn't see it as complete)

Keeprite Off

Keeprite On (20C)

Let me know if you can help generate valid Hex codes for either one of these AC's. The Keeprite looks promising...

Thanks in advance and I am available to run any test you want

We never heard back from you on the original request back in 2015, so what happened? And if we put more effort into helping you this time, should we expect a response?

Sorry been quite busy renovating for the last 2-3 years and couldnt do proper testing till now. I have 2 weeks vacation now so yes ill be more that glad to answer/interact Smile
I did test existing codes provided without success / devices dont respond. The only thing working as of now is the learned codes on URC-9910 for the keeprite unit ( DVD key 4 and 5 on the IR file) however if I try to learn it via USB-UIRT it doesnt work. And since the protocol is not recognized i couldnt translate the learned signals from the IR to Hex for usage on USB-UIRT. Ill gladly construct a clean file to be shared on the forum if this works out. Again I will only use Hex codes with USB-UIRT . Thanks in advance for your help!

So, if I understand correctly, you ultimately need Pronto hex to work with the USB-UIRT, but you already have that and it doesn't work, so that sounds like a limitation of the USB-UIRT. Not sure what else we can do.

Just for reference, here's the Keeprite signals in binary

01100001 01010000 00000000 01001101 Keeprite Off
01110110 01010000 00000000 01001011 Keeprite On (20C)

Perfect. The Hex codes you provided for the Keeprite unit works (from urc-9910 learned codes) Wink The binary, no. TCL neither Hex or Binary. which is not surprising since they didnt work in the first place...
Thats already great. Can you provide instructions/software I could use to convert my urc-9910 learned code to Hex? I have "makehex" which I use but I need the protocol info which I dont have for these devices. Let me know, otherwise I'll provide a few extra codes if you don't mind converting; I can then assemble a file for forum users to benefit from.

For the TCL, unless I can have working codes learned on a third party device, I guess the protocol is too complex to decode? Maybe I'll look into the decoding unit you suggested buying.

Thanks again for your help, I'll be out for the week so I'll get back to you the following week.

Have a good weekend!

I am curious, when you say the binary doesn't work, what do you mean? The binary isn't meant "to work" it's just a visual representation of the signal, I don't know what application you could enter it into to make it "work".

Anyway, for the Keeprite, all I did was open your IR file using IR.exe, go to the learned codes tab, select a learned button and click edit, then change the display from UEI format to Pronto format.

For the TCL, it's not that the protocol is too complicated to decode, as you can see, I have already decoded what you posted, I suspect that the problem is that you're not capturing enough of the signal.

As agreed, find below the Pronto codes for the Keeprite unit
ON at 16C to 25C (Cooling mode / Swing ), and Off .
Hopefully this will help someone else.
I'll try to do some more testing on the TCL unit. Maybe I'll get the IR widget in order to get the full signal decoded.
Will keep you posted.

Thanks again for your help on this.

As per other thread, thank you

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16473

Download here:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=26041ΒΈ

ps: there is a gap for each signal therefore 39 examples = 78 decodes/samples

Let me know if something is wrong/missing and/or if I should test/upload something else. Thx

edit: If it is simpler to create the upgrade from the pronto codes, I could extract the same examples/signals (spreadsheet) via my URC-9910 and upload the data. let me know. Thx.

I've tried to match up the learns with the entries in the spreadsheet, but there are way more entries in the spreadsheet than there are learns in the ICT file, so I can't.

I can take the learns in any format, Pronto, ict or JP1 learns, but if you go the ict route, could you add a note on each learn with a tag that refers back to the spreadsheet?

Each button press was returning 2 entries (unknown+gap)
Therefore 39 items in the spreadsheet, 78 in .ict.

While I prepare the updated ict with notes; here's the pronto/hex version.
It should follow the spreadheet (1xunkown+gap per keypress)

It's a 2-part signal, so I expect IRScope to behave like that, just add a note to the first half.

There are 41 Pronto signals and 39 entries in the spreadsheet, so I still don't know how to line them up, and 4 of the Pronto signals don't have a complete second part to them.
