View Tv 263 Help

Post by hcschroeder »

I have a 350 Sling being fed by a View Tv 263 OTA Converter. I tried the bin for the View Tv 163 but it did not work. It loaded just fine, but no functions worked. Need some help finding correct remote for my sling.

Thanks for help.

Alan, from what I've read, the AT-263 seems to be just an AT-163 with an antenna. AT-163 has two different upgrades. I had tried the one that you posted, when I lost my remote. It didn't work. So I went to Harmony ( I don't like to do that because they cut me off after relatively few downloads, so I'm trying to conserve my synchs). Anyway Harmony reported that there were more than one set of codes for this model. I used trial and error with what I know about noname devices liking Nec1 0 or Nec1 1 and eventually came up with this upgrade for the View AT-163.

Give this a try for building an alternate AT-163 bin file for hcschroeder.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

hcschroeder,
I see you've been a member for a while. If you know how to build a bin from an RDMU great, if not alanrichey is our slingbox export and I'm sure he can help you build a bin from my RDMU file.

Let us know how you get on with this.

Yes but I'm not up to date on the help files that Alan wants in them.

Although I read the posts in the slingbox forum, I generally try to stay out of Alan's sandbox.

If the user knows how to load bin files, I don't think Alan would mind if you create a temp file, in the Slingbox Work Files folder, for the user to test. Once the user confirms that it works, Alan will package it up nicely and put it in the correct folder.

I've never felt that Alan would mind, although I suspect he does sit back and get amused by my wallowing in his sandbox. I try to stay away from the sling forum because this particular forum is aggravating.

LOL, typical conversation here...

User: I need a code for an XYZ unit.
Alan: Try this (and please read the instructions)
User: It didn't work
Alan: And you didn't read the instructions
User: yes I did
Alan: No you didn't.
etc etc

Well it would be hypocritical for me to be annoyed by the technically inept.

No for me its the no feedback user
User: Can you get me xyz box
Alan: Hows this?
A week later:
Alan: Any News
Two weeks later:
Alan: I guess we'll never know

Or the unrealistically impatient user
User: Can you get me Xyz box
24 hours later
Alan: Hows this
User: i went out and bought a different box. . . .

Yup, both of those too, but the "it didn't work" users are the most common.

Thanks for cheering me up this morning :D I hadn't realised you all watched progress so closely.

Anyway, at the risk of going around the loop again, I have built the Remote package and it is at
