One of the buttons on my URC-6440 stopped working and I would like to open it to see if its fixable. I tried prying it apart gently after removing the screw in the battery compartment but it didn't budge. Can anyone who has successfully opened this remote give pointers as to what is the best way to disassemble it?
Thanks!

It's not easy to open it. Under the rubber bumper there are multiple latches that hold the case together. You need to push a flat screwdriver between the rubber bumper and the plastic and try to unlatch them one by one and somehow hold the already unlatched parts so they don't latch back.

Don't pull the rubber bumper too much. It will stretch and won't stick tightly to the plastic case when you put it back together.

Here you can see where the latches are (the wide ones). As you can see there are 5 on each side and one on the bottom.

Here's the key side of the PCB.

The buttons use metal dome type switches. The white part that holds all the domes together is glued on the PCB and also acts as a light guide for backlight LEDs. I don't know if you can safely remove it without breaking.

Thank you for your quick and very helpful response. It doesn't seem as if it will be an easy fix though.
