Nevo C2 Firmware ?

Since EZ-RC has closed down, JP1 is your only option to get these remotes upgrades. We will (eventually) support all remotes formerly supported by EZ-RC, including the Moster Revolution 200.

did you already have an account?

I bought a couple of them and ez-rc doesn't allow me to create a new account.

Your browser must be IE, not Edge.

yea, I tried with IE (using a VM running Windows 7 on my mac)

still no love

I'm assuming that there is no support for this thing on Mac, it doesn't show up as a USB device and I can't see it from RMIR. but can see it on Windows

Just bought 2 of these cheap on eBay to use as remotes with Kodi and possibly using Flirc receivers. It looks like the EZ-RC website is no longer available to create an account since 8th May.

Does anybody know where I can get and how I can update these remotes to the latest firmware without the EZ-RC site ?

We're exploring ways to do this without EZ-RC, but no progress yet.

In the mean time, maybe some kind soul will share their login with you. I'd offer mine, but I can't change my password to something I don't mind sharing.

In fact, I just started a thread asking if anyone will share a login.

Would be really grateful if some kind member would be willing to share their login in order for me to update the firmware on my 2 devices :-)

Update: I tried to raise this with "One for All" but they didnt really want to know about helping me with these remotes and just pointed me to the "X-sight replacement offer" so unless someone is willing to share their logins i dont think I'll get much further at the moment

Does anybody know if realistically there will be a chance to be able to update the firmware on these remotes directly in the short to mid term now that the EZ-RC website is gone ?

It depends on what you call a realistic chance. I am the person working on this. We have had no success in our testing so far, but I am still investigating it and have not given up hope. I would still say that there is a realistic chance in the medium term.

Do be aware, however, that updating the firmware makes almost no difference to the operation of the remote. A number of users seem to be making a big issue of this, which is why I am working to satisfy them, but really it is not a big issue. What are you expecting the update to achieve? The chances are either that an update doesn't do what you want, or else that there are other ways of doing it. But if you let me know, in this thread, what it is you want then I will be able to say definitely if an update would or would not achieve it.

We're trying to add that to RMIR but so far have not been successful.

The main feature I need updating the firmware for is in order to be able to remove the big "Assist" button in the Activities.

We are also working on a way to do this without a firmware update, but this is still in the investigation stage so no results yet.

It's about 6 weeks since this exchange of messages, which I think counts as medium term. The problems are now all solved. RMIR v2.05 is coming, which will include the ability to do firmware updates on the XSight Touch/Color and Nevo remotes. It has worked in testing. There is still a little more work to be done before public release, and I'm about to take some (well-earned :) ) holiday, so it will be a few weeks before it is ready. But it is definitely coming!
