I think the IR code to these 3 STBs is all the same, MCE 38.80.
I, however, cannot find a discrete code to them.
That is Audio/MPS button.

How can I approach this problem?
By trial and error? or by looking at the excel database?

Thanks.

Hi, I'm also looking for solution for that language button.
May I know if you manage to solve it?

Hi Fandy, could you answer the following questions before we proceed:

1. Make/model of the Device:
2. JP1/UEI Remote model:
3. Do you have a JP1 cable?
4. Which upgrade or setup code are you using?

I bought the Slingbox two years ago and spent time here to find the correct remote control setup. With the link above, I'm able to control box through Slingplayer.
Recently I got a AndriodTV and it allow me to install the Slingplayer TV version.
The inconvenient thing is less buttons in the remote control of AndroidTV so I started to search discussions here and assigned the up/down arrow to channel+/channel- successfully.
Just noticed someone asked a function which is I would like to have for a long time so I'm wondering he gets this solved or not.

I also found one discussion about this and alanrichey had added the function to binary code. But it's NEC 1.253 protocol and my box uses MCE 38.80.
I try to find a way to convert NEC to MCE but no luck on that.

I have created some dummy upgrades for you. What you need to do is load each dummy upgrade (C2001 thru C2006) into your Slingbox and then test all the buttons (I just used regular buttons, no custom ones). If any button does anything, look up the button in the included spreadsheet to see what OBC was on it, then add that to the main RMDU file or list it here and I'll take care of it. Keep in mind that some functions only work on certain screens, and a discrete on function will only work if the device is turned off, so some re-testing may be needed.

Got it, will try it out and update here.
One question, do I need to list down all working buttons or just find out the language button?

I found the codes, here I list down the OBC code:
    Function Name/OBC
  • Info/15
  • Audio/140
  • Exit/210

I also made a binary file and it works perfectly!
Not sure where is the best place to put it

Really appreciated your help, Robman!

So you weren't able to find the Language code that you were looking for?

I have updated the main RMDU file here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=10392

and the main Slingbox bin file here:

I found it, the Audio function is the Language function I need.
Also fixed the Info and Exit function for this box.

So what does Audio do then? I though Language would change the language on the screen, not change the audio

I guess it depends on regions, the function name in Remote Master is SAP/Subtitle.
In some countries, the function can enable/disable subtitle.
In Taiwan, it can switch the audio to original language.
For example, when look Fox sport here, it is broadcast with Chinese.
When I use that function, it can switch to English.
I prefer to hear original sounds especially for movies.
