Dear All,

I'm just curious: is there any particular reason why the URC-8350 (1169) is not included in any version of RM?

It's been around for some years...

And there is an extender also:

TiceRex,
About a year ago, I put some effort into moving RDF files from the RDF development file section to SourceForge. We left some RDFs in the development area, generally because the files had obvious omissions. There were a few like 11691169 which have unusual features (the 1169 RDF descrilbes 5 devices modes rather than the typical 4, i.e. it has 5 button maps). In those cases I searched the forum for the remotes in question, looking for evidence that the RDFs were known to be OK. The only reference I found in the forums which would indicate that the RDF file is correct was a post by you in which you say that you had been able to download from the remote.

So, can you confirm that the existing RDF is OK? Does RMIR reflect 5 button maps? Are all of the button numbers correct? If this is all OK, I'll try to figure out the setup code information, incorporate it and commit the files to SourceForge.

Hi 3FG,

The URC-8350 is a hybrid (IR+RF) remote. It has 4 normal (IR) device buttons: TV, DVD, AUDIO and STB. The fifth device selection button (the green one in the middle) is for the RF controlled electrical socket.

This fifth button's funcions are not accessible by RMIR, but that's not a surprise, as in this mode the remote doesn't send any IR signals. In this mode there are only two buttons working: Vol+ as On, and Vol- as Off.

All the other modes and buttons can be reprogrammed successfully by RMIR with the current RDF (beta).

I'm not sure what other information is needed to put this remote in release. Maybe a better image would be nice, I would create a new one. Is there any limit on the size of the image (in pixel or in bytes)?

Regards, TiceRex

Hi,

I've uploaded the updated version of RDF, Map and Image files for 11691169 / URC-8350 here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=13957

As far as I can tell all the buttons and functions are working properly with these files.

(Maybe it's not the right place to post it, so I ask the moderators to move it if necessary.)

Best Regards,
TiceRex

Thanks for uploading the URC-8350 files. I've been testing them against my remote. The only problem I've found is that I'm unable to assign the advance and replay buttons.

Can you explain what you mean by "unable to assign"?
