Right, but this Version 8.03 is working perfect on my XP.

On my Win7 and 8.1 PC's, I've installed v2.03 build 12

Is that the correct one ?

Well that explains it. You don't have an FTDI cable, so of course FTDI drivers won't work or load automatically. You have a Prolific cable. Unfortunately, drivers for that one are hard to find. This one may work for Win 7. You'll have to find one for Win 8 (possibly this one http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowProdu ... 25&pcid=41 )

8.03 is an IR version, not RMIR.

As I recall, most Prolific chips out there are indeed counterfeit and won't work with Prolific's own drivers (linked above). If you do find working drivers, other than what I posted, please let us know, and I'll add to the file section.

Win 8 and Win 7 have the correct drivers built in already, so the driver install was unnecessary.
Dave,
In my experience with 3 Win 7 computers, the FTDI drivers were not "built in". In one case, auto detection of my interface cable did not result in a working driver, and I had to install the driver manually.

Thanks. Maybe I'm thinking of Win 8. I just tested a Win 10 system, and they aren't built in there.

Anybody have working Prolific drivers for Win7/8?

Dave, that first driver you posted seems to work fine on Win7 64 even though when installing it says Vista.

I was just now able to upload and download to a 1056B01 for the first time on Win7 PC !

I did have to stop it looking on windows update for the drivers before it would work.

I'll try it next on my Win8.1 64.

Thank you (Robman and everyone) very much for all your time, patience and work, I really appreciate it !
