5. Do you have a JP1 cable? usb
6. Still have original remote? yes
7. Checked the file section? yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? yes
9. Partially working setup code? no
10. Learning remote question? yes (there are many more commands available for the television than capable through my remote; eg discrete inputs)
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? yes

It turns out that you do need that question, at least for me! I bought into the instructions suggesting that the remote could be programmed entirely through the stand-alone programs. I could not figure it out and ultimately caved and used the ez-rc.com site.

What you're supposed to do is program it once on the ez site, that way you will get the right drivers loaded locally on your computer, then after that you can use RMIR to program it.

But that first pass is important, not only to get the drivers, but because UEI really does have thousands upon thousands of codes available, many more than they typically install in an individual remote.
