To start with with the Slingcatcher. I just read the "help texts" that I can reach in the menus of the Slingcatcher. If it works it is great! The Sling catcher is a great thing - my guess is that deleating that hardware probably is a legal problem...
When I try to use the "on button" on the remote that I did install - and that could change channels with when the digital TV box is on - nothing happens. The box is putting itself in a "off mode" after a number of hours ( probably 6-8) and after that I can not put it on again ( from my remote position). I guess that is an attempt to reduce your energy bill, but if you can not put it on again throu the the Sling system I would rather pay a few kronor extra to have it on and be able to send signals....

You are still not answering my question !!! If the box is on and you tap the Power button does it power off, and then if you tap it again does it power on ? I need to know if this 'deep sleep' is different to a normal standby.

I am in Spain and the new cable box is in Stockholm so I can not guarantee what status the box in Stockholm has. To me it looks as the box is Stockholm is powered off ( not in standby). When I press the power button on the virtual remote nothing happens. I have tried a number of other buttons without any luck.

When I checked the Slingbox app right now, the remote control - that was there yesterday - could not be launched. Reinstall?

Alan,
I am in Stockholm now on my way back to Spain. The remote is radio controlled, not IR, which made my attempt to program the Slingcatcher remote a failure... But being on the spot I have managed to remove the automatic turn off after 4 hoursof the box in Stockholm, which will give me a possibility to watch my TV back in Spain although the "power button" does not work. I just leave the TV box in Stockholm on. So the basic functions work now. However the recording function on my hard drive in the TV box does not work. If that could be fixed, of course I would be greatful . I have a picture of the remote if that would be of any help. How do I get it over to you?

OK, can you be much more specific ? EXACTLY which buttons are not working.

The important one - for recording - is the read button for recording when you have the overview of the programs in different channels displayed. When you have the program for a specific time slot "marked" and press the recording button - nothing at all happens.

I thought you said the Power button wasn't working ?

Unfortunately there is nothing on the Logitech Harmony database resembling a 'read' function, it only gives the standard buttons. We can always try and find it by trial and error if you want, won't take long.

You are right - the power button does not work - but as I have the power on permanently right now - that in a downgraded priority....
I am willing to do some trial and error... A picture of the actual remote control is of no use to you?

I wonder if he meant RED button that would be a standard for record.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Probably a spelling mistake :D

OK, here's is the trial and error. As I said before all the button codes lie between 0-255. In fact this one is a bit special as the ones we have working all lie between 0-40. And there are 10 of those that are not being used and haven't been tested. So I have uploaded 2 new BIN files (You haven't told me which Slingbox you are using so both the RV and PL files are included) using the new code V2011. They are at http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=13208

Now, the ONLY button that should work correctly is the Power button, all the rest of the buttons will transmit an untested code number. So once you have installed the remote test EVERY button, including the 15 Custom buttons that you get by right-clicking on the remote image and selecting Custom. Let me know if any of the buttons have an effect on the box.

Files are at

Alan,
I will give it a try. But if I by any chance turns it off and can not turn it on again - my wife will kill me as long as the cross country ski world championship is still on - so give me a couple of days...

I thought of that after I posted. On 95% of the remotes I have produced there is just a Power Toggle so you would be OK. But on the odd occasion there is a Power On, and a Power Off, and it would be just our luck to find the Power Off and not the Power On.

Do it in your own time.
