Info Button on Dish Network

Post by alanrichey »

I see from some other postings that the Info button on the Dish Network boxes uses a different protocol to the normal ?

Has a workaround for this been identified ?

I've uploaded an ICT learn at http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=12735 It does the Power and OK buttons as a reference, then 3 copies of the Info button, both short bursts and long bursts if that will help.

Haven't looked at your learns yet. But I had Dish for years, and Info was nothing special, just OBC zero. I've had hundreds of downloads of my upgrade below with no complaints:

Can you link one of those other posts you're talking about? Where did your learn come from? I think I still have a Dish remote somewhere that I could double check.

There is also a "System Info" which is OBC 36. I usually don't map that one to any keys since it's so rarely used.

Interesting. I was looking at some of the Bell Express upgrades and a couple mentioned problems with the Info button. And regardless of what Dish/Bell models I installed on my Harmony IRScope would not read the Info code. Hence the ICT file. I'll give zero a go and see what the user says.

Thanks

Ahh, Bell may be a different animal. Sorry for going off track.

Alan,
For some reason, the Info signals aren't recognized in IRScope, but I have looked at them with another program and your learned Info signals are standard Dish Network. Device 0.0, with OBC 0. Short and long presses give the same signals, but of course with a different number of frames.

(Power is OBC 2, and OK is OBC 16.)
