Codes for ADB 5743 CDX

Hi,
I have tried to connect ADB 5743 to Slingbox. I'm trying 5720 binary but doesn't work. Tried to connect to Solo as test however target is to connect to 500. The 5743 is actually delivered by Canal Digital with Canal Digital logo but I don't that should matter.

Earlier used your binary codes to connect VU+ to both Solo and 500. Quality wise 500 superior compared to Solo.

The 5743 uses the same codes as the 5720 so it should work. There is a bug in the 500 which means you must reset ALL the inputs before installing a Custom Remote, but that doesn't explain why it failed on the Solo.

You do all that from a remote location using Slingplayer, you don't have to be at the box location.

The reason for no access is that the decoder currently is disconnected from the internet.

Have tried a few times however had several connection problems back home. Home connection now ok.

Tried both Firefox and IE on windows 8.1 however got message
Invalid custom file

Should there be any problems with windows version? Remember earlier VU+ installation when I recalled I used XP.

Tried as well desktop 2.0 however did today not succeed.

Think bought Solo in Norway, however tried both US and Eur version.

Picked 5720 bin. Unit I Canal Digital 5743. Noticed Harmony has several 5743 versions.

Hi Alan,
My mistake was too stupid to mention but anyhow. As long as I got help from you it's fair to give full comments as well. I had looked at the document you referred to as well as other documents/explanations. I even had printed the document you referred to. I had placed files on C:. I tried bin both small and capital letters.

When trying to upload I stared blindly at that document and typed C2010 instead of V2010. Thanks for your help. Directing me again to last document made me look even more detailed at it.

Thanks again. I now go next step and buy 500. The Solo I tried on now is in the house of my son in Norway. I have a house close to that and have installed in that house Solo and 500 (JP1 codes) connected to a VU+. 500 works fine. It's very stable and HDMI works perfect. I have not had HDMI problems as described by other people.

I'm living in Qatar and watching from Qatar.

No such thing as a stupid mistake in this system, we have all done things like that. That's a valid point, I'll amend the instructions to make sure other people don't fall in the same trap. Glad it's sorted.
