Adding notes / comments into IR.exe?

Post by jimschott »

Is there a way to add notes and comments into IR.exe?

I'd love to be able to add a comment with each Key Move or Macros as a way to remember their function, or as a way to remember the function of EFCs & Hex codes.

The simple answer is no. This is a frequently asked question and someone (e34m5) is in fact working on a something to satisfy the issue atleast with the keymoves related to extenders.

In the interim what some people do it use the copy button at the bottom of the keymove panel and paste it into a note and add their comments so they basically end up with a cheatsheet.

Short answer: No.

It has been requested several times, but Mark (the guy who wrote IR) has no time to add features. There was someone else here recently that was taking suggestions and was supposed to be adding new features, but I haven't heard from him in a while... Unfortunately, it seems to be rather hard to find someone with both the time and expertise to make such changes.

I know e34m5 has been working on a significant feature in IR and may even be close to releasing something if Mark blesses it.

Mark has the new code..hopefully he'll have time soon to release the beta.

I have also thought about the idea of someway to add notes, especially to the keymoves...I'll need to chew on that on for a while... :D
