OT - HD Converter Boxes

Given the dead rate for CM-7000s, I wouldn't consider buying a used one. I hadn't seen the new one there when I looked last week - it only came up on Sunday. I'm in the auction now. (Thanks for the pointer)

I've already replaced the caps on both of mine -- I have what looks like one marginally working unit now (e.g., it's going green, but after a few minutes). I'm considering sending the other for repair to Whitebar at AVSforum, who has done a few of these, since I haven't gotten it working yet.

But... I'm looking around for what else might work.

I recommend the whitebar fix - I used his service a while ago and it worked great. My mom is still using her ReplayTV!

The CM-7000 worked even better after he replaced the capacitors.
