IR audio dongle.

Post by Zibri »

Hello again good people!

I had a look at this simple project:
http://rtfms.com/episode-4-turn-your-ip ... remote.htm

I ordered some leds and some jacks and I'm building some of them.

I wonder if any of the programs in this forum archive can generate WAV files that could work with this type of dongle.

The best would be to have a converter so I could convert for example a samsung tv remote to single wavs one for each key.

Any ideas?

The build is really trivial:

Example of working Volume UP key for samsung TV:

Right Click this link and save as...

Note:
This particular scheme works with half frequency files so it can be used with any player even crappy ones!

Hi Zibri, long time no see.

IRScope has some legacy code that can generate WAV files for keys. But I that is only an Autosave option. So if you have a widget, you can shoot the codes and save the WAVs. It doesn't work for codes that you imported from UEI learns, Pronto Hex, or ICT files.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

hmm.. what we need is only a pronto to wav program.

something like this:
http://rtfms.com/wp-content/rtfms-com/p ... _to_wav.py

But that should be implemented in RM803 or irmaster.

What I would like to do is to code an IR generator in HTML5 and to code a good online universal remote which uses the cheap ir dongles.

Yep.. thanks.. I posted there too.
This dongle is even cheaper than that one.
And I tested it.. it works from 4 meters using an iPad.
Dual phase inverted leds is the key :)
