I emailed oneforall UK about these remotes and got the following response:
"yes, both units have a new JP1.2 connector in them."
So I think I will order one to play with once I clear some other projects off. _________________ Thanks, Dale T |

Hmm... I wonder if their definition of JP1.2 matches ours. Actually, to be honest I'm not entirely sure what the differences of our definitions between the different JP1.x remotes. My guess it has something to do with the communications protocol or processor version. I do know connection of pin 5 is not recommend for JP1.3 remotes and all of the JP1.x remotes are all flash based whereas as the original JP1's used EEPROM for storage.
Anyways, sounds good! Sounds like a fun project to get involved with. I hope you it works out for you. _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

@dtveng: I've got a URC-6420 Remote and I tried to connect it to a Jp1.2/1.3 USB cable but it doesn't work.
Did you manage to get it to work? |
