Sorry about the notes! Actually I have some slightly older versions with a lot more comments, but after the long break I imported the data from the remote to make sure I was working on the version I'd been using.
I think the SAT/CBL device was to perform a special command that allowed discrete Off ...

I've put a copy of my ir file in my DropBox folder, the one before changing the Discrete On to just Power, you can get it here

I think I'd rate it as 'quite complex'!

Thanks for the reply.
I set up the remote I have quite some time ago, most of it was done in 2004, and have pretty much forgotten all that I learnt from this forum when I did it!!
The remote is a URC-8060 and I'm using the IR.EXE program from Jan 2005, V6.0. I'm using the extender for the URC-8060 ...

Panasonic DMR-BWT720 Discrete On problem
I recently replaced an older Panasonic DVD recorder/PVR for a DMR-BWT720.
All the codes that worked with the old recorder work for the DMR-BWT720, most use the Setup Code 0490.
However, the Discrete On code, Hex Command 83, that worked fine with the older DVD recorder will turn the DMR-BWT720 on ...

DiscreteOn and DiscreteOff for XP MCE - Solution
Windows XP Media Centre does not have discrete On and Off commands, only a power toggle. This make it difficult to use with complex macros on multiple device systems as you have to rely on ToadTogs to let remote know the current state of the PC.
I've found another solution, which does not rely on ...

I can't figure it out from one sample. I'm not sure I could figure it out from a lot of samples. IR keyboards are tricky. You're never learning enough to see the whole pattern.
Oh dear! All I can say is that, if I load that IR file to the 8060, then pressing the 1 key does what I want! So I guess ...

Adding 'learned' command to extended remote
I've been using my 8060 and 8040's with extenders for some time without too many problems. One of the annoyances with my system, which is nothing to do with the remote or the extender, is that the media centre PC has no discrete on/of commands.
However, since I got an IR keyboard I have been able ...

Yes, I know the old OnDigital box is not exactly the best free view box, in fact it's quite possibly the worst! Having said that it's actually been running for the last 3 years without any lockup at all, which has to be good. Changing channels can take 2 seconds or more, but if you use its crappy ...
