JP1 Remotes

ir.exe version 6.20
win xp pro 64 bit

I haven't used ir.exe in a few months. it was working fine back then with my RS 15-2116 remote and homemade parallel port JP1 cable. But now that I need to reprogram the remote, it's not working. I get the following message:

That's incorrect, Firefly mini is IR. Regular Firefly is RF.

I checked, it is v. 9.06. The only security box I get is the one that asks me if I want to enable macros or not.

Ok, here's what I do.
I download km 9.02 from the beginner's thread.
I unzip it.
I open it.
I enable macros.
I switch the remote from the default 15-1994 to 15-2117/15-2116 in cell c-2. Cell F-11/12 still says 15-1994.

Right, but I do want to do both. That is, open and close the program with the dvd/power button, and have another button to open and close the DVD drawer itself. So far I can't get the firefly remote to do these things on its own.

yes, that's what i did. For some reason the functions won't come up for use in the buttons tab. Nomatter, I got it working better in RM.
