Problem w/ new JP-1 cable?

First a little history. I had an extended 9910 working great for quite a while, then a new TV necessitated some reprogramming. My old JP-1 cable seemed to be damaged, I kept getting the "Low SDA error" so I figured my cable was bad.
I purchased a new JP-1 cable from Tommy Tyler, made sure I had the ...

GFB has it pegged. Download the learned signals, create your own upgrade using the information learned and then upload the new upgrade. I had a very similiar situation, and these steps worked beautifuly

Thanks both! I'm looking for a JP-1 remote, that's what I have the cable for, not the newer .x versions. I'd rather give my business to Robman anyway, regardless of how long it may take.

Comcast remotes

I've been searching for JP-1 remotes on E-bay, can anyone tell me which Comcast remotes, if any, are JP-1?
Which models, are any mods required, etc. etc.
I'm really looking for a remote that's ready to go, unfortunately Robman isn't selling remotes anymore, and most sellers on E-bay aren't JP-1 savvy.

Binky is correct - DB's are device buttons without a physical button, used for keymoves, macros, etc

I have a Sony LCD, and it has plenty of discrete codes, as is typical for most Sonys.

The readme.txt attached to the urc-8910x1 I originaly downloaded was a bit out dated, specifically regarding special protocol functions like DSM's and LKP's. Make sure to read up on those 2 special protocol functions they made going w/ an extender all the worthwhile. Good luck!

Regarding the extenders, I'm still a way aways, but just curious, what kind of new features can be added to an 8910?

I've still got quite a bit left as far as learning all this stuff goes, but have made it to an extender on my 9910 (same as 8910, only w/ RF)

The extender is working great for me ...

You'll use the forum to help yourself, but not share any of your efforts w/ everyone else? Seems a little selfish. Perhaps you should try giving a little before you continue to criticize people for not happily accepting difficult to read posts. It's almost work trying to read some of your posts, and ...

Try the 9910, it already has the RF. I use all 3, true IR repeater, next generation and the 9910. The latter two are superior b/c you don't have to rely on an IR receiver, perfect for the outdoor speakers of a whole house audio set up

So I got that parasol product varikote - dont' worry, I only paid shipping for samples

It didn't work - granted I was a little tough w/ my testing, vigorously rubbing the painted buttons, but it came right off

Next stop - colored press type - red 'R', blue 'B' etc

That donut looking wire coil is definitely the modem for over the phone upgrades only. You really don't have to worry about soldering any of it's connections back if you're a JP-1 er.
