JP1 Remotes

Thanks for the tip on using shift-DVD/TV/CBL. It's working well. My only reservation is how slowly the macros run but functionality is perfect.

I have done a lot with JP1 on this remote over the last few days and have it working well. However, my wife asked the question - "how come when I press the DVD button it doesn't select the DVD audio and change the TV? Good question. Having to press the TV/VID button to switch the TV channel is not ...

So, I think I'm understanding that... Devices in the devices tab are additional devices outside of those in ROM that have been added, either by someone else or by me, that are now available to potentially be selected in the general tab.

I have a new scientic atlanta 8000HD system from time warner. It comes with an Atlas 5 device remote. It works the cable and dvr functionality perfectly. It turns the TV on/off (Philips). So far so good.

Aha! That did it.

I found the lot of three m4 remotes. Unfortunately these ones must be modified from the one I've seen before as they don't have all the keys I was expecting.

I'll keep my eyes open for more.

Jim. Thanks for the advice. I didn't find any remotes using Millenium 4 as the search in ebay. I checked in titles and descriptions. I don't want you to be giving away any secrets so if you can see one in there can you post a link to it for me.

Thanks for the tip on the t-warner remote. I looked through ebay yesterday and saw bunches of similar remotes but didn't see the Atlas.

It isn't the best looking remote but my wife loves the page up/page down keys while browsing through the cable guide. I wish more remotes had those keys...

Wow! I'm having some success :) but I think there's a little bit of luck shining on me...

I ignored the frequency and sent once stuff and just looked at the codes. I couldn't find the JVC codes already mapped out (but I didn't look very hard) so I learned a couple of the other keys on my master ...

My JP1 cable arrived and I'm back from visiting family & friends. So... it's time for me to get going on my project again. Of course I've found myself straight in "jp1 jail".

I'm trying to do something simple. I have my Millenium 3 remote which has 3 devices but only tv, cable & vcr device types ...

Thanks to the forum for all the help so far. My JP1 cable may arrive by Saturday. Once I get it I'll start playing and will definitely be looking for further support.
