Yes the XMP protocol executor has been adapted for the older S3c8 processor that is in the Cinema 7. The JP1 group first encountered this on a dreambox, so RM and KM are calling this the dreambox protocol. Since then its been discovered that the official name for this protocol is xmp.
That is ...

I just checked the signature on the remote and it is returning "3039" rather than "1039"...

Thanks for the quick replies -- to both of you!

I'd forgotten that you could actually do keymoves by pressing the keys themselves....or never knew it in the first place. I've always done it using the actual codes -- though I have been using JP1 to configure my remotes for so long that I barely ...

Comcast Remote, Toshiba TV, Pace RNG110 -- Questions....

This question actually covers a multitude of related issues -- primarily because I am trying to decide the best (or rather easiest) means of accomplishing something.

Personally, I already have numerous JP1 remotes that I am quite happy with and quite familiar with programming (though it has been 3 ...

Thank you!!!

Which remotes support Device TV/1365?
(do any out of the box? I would doubt any of mine do due to their age.)

Doh! Someone needs to smack me up the side of the head for not thinking to contact UEI/OFA in the first place.

I have been using JP1 and doing my own upgrades for so long I ...

Yeah, I was surprised at how little info I could find as well.

I can still use the TV without the remote but its a real nuisance when it comes to changing channels (it takes a LONG time to channel up from Channel 5ish to Channel 76ish or so).

Thanks for the info on those device codes -- I just ...

Radio Shack *15-1994*, 15-2104 and UEI 8910 For Sale!

I have placed part of my "collection" of remotes on sale on Ebay.

The most notable one being the 15-1994.

Soldering

Has anyone tested one of these out yet?

Right now I have a nice Weller variable temp solder station but its not quite as precise as I'd like and it takes longer than I like to heat up and cool down.

From the description, it sounds like this "tip only" heating may use principles similar to those ...

This is a very good question.... especially considering I've got a 15-1994 that I'm wanting to sell/trade and I really don't know what to ask for it!

Personally, I like the 15-1994 better than the 2116/2117 series, but not as well as my 8810. The 8810's 4 L buttons and 4 M button plus discrete skip ...

On my remote, having either two or three NOPs after STOP works but the backlight has problems -- i.e. it flickers and won't work properly.

If I add the NOPs after IDLE as well, then the backlight behaviour goes back to what you would expect.

I'm thinking some lots of micros must be more ...

I guess I need to do the same -- though I hadn't noticed the difference in the timing (hadn't looked that closely).

Since this seems to be the correct fix for these models of 8810, would't it be wise for someone to do a "release" of this version of the extender, take ownership of it and post it ...

Following the programming guides I changed it to 3 NOP's after the STOP and 3 NOP's after the IDLE.

Guess what?

The extender works and the backlight no longer flickers.

Just got finished looking at the code a bit and it appears that the loop used for controlling the back light display time makes use of the IDLE command... which is one of the commands that the S3C80 guide recommends sticking NOPs after.

Also, doesn't the programming guide recommend 3 NOP's after ...
